research and studies in this region. Getting familiar with the abiotic features
of oceans, seas and intercontinental water areas as the most important
factors controlling the ecological conditions and ecosystems in each
geographical region, and they have defining roles in sustainable development.
So, the authors of the researcpresent Atlas tried to provide hers and
marine experts with the result of field data analysis and marine observations
of qualitative and quantitative features of important factors such as:
Caspian Sea morphological, hydrological, meteorological and hydrodynamic
conditions in various regions of the Caspian Sea. The present scientific
book, which is comprised of some chapters with various details regarding
abiotic features of Caspian Sea, is the product of interactional work of the
author with Azerbaijan great scientist professor doctor Ramiz Mamedov.
We are grateful to him for his trust and cooperation. Also, special thanks go
to the English translator, Mahsa Ariafar. Lastly, grateful acknowledgement
is also made to strategic support of manager and colleagues in the Ports and
Maritime Organization for providing financial support needed for publishing
the present book. It is hoped that this book be beneficial for all the readers.
