Biography of Dr Homayoun Khoshravan
Dr. Homayoun Khoshravan was born in October,
1967, in Iran, in the historic city of Isfahan. He was
interested in natural sciences, and in 1985 he started
studying geology in Shahid Beheshti University,
Tehran, Iran. In 1995, he graduated in geology
(stratigarphy and paleontology) from Isfahan State
University, and later in 1999 he finished his PhD on
geology (stratigarphy and paleontology) at the
Islamic Azad University, Science and Research campus.
Since 1993, he has been working in the National center of Caspian Sea
research and studies. His interest in the marine sciences resulted in writing
various compilations, other than his M.Sc and PhD theses, including domestic,
provincial and national reports. During the last two decades, more than 70
scientific articles have been published and presented by him in domestic
and international conferences and scholarly journals. His effort in
attainment and promotion of scientific knowledge and in tackling the major
problems in coastal regions such as erosion and environmental pollution,
the reconstruction of past events and determination of natural hazards
risk, resulted in important results which have been published as reports
and articles.
