Cancer read the letter over and over again, but he still
did not get the meaning behind it. The medication in the
hospital has side effects that messed up his memories. He
does not remember anything he wanted to remember.
“Honey! Dinner’s ready!” his mother called from
downstairs.
He strolled downstairs and saw the food his mother
had prepared for the family. The food that once had been
his favorite, or is it not? He would not remember. He sat
down at the dinner table across from this mother. Then
they began to eat.
The food was fabulous. He never thought his mother’s
cooking was this good before. He stuffed his mouth full of
food and raised his head and saw his parents are all look-
ing at him. He quickly swallowed and complimented, “The
food is delicious.”
“That had been your favorite.”
