Finding The Truth
er to give her a hug. This was not his mother he used to
know. His mother used to have black hair that hung to her
waist. She used to look elegant, young, and beautiful. And
now, the mother she saw was still elegant, but age had
slowly crowed onto the corner of her eyes. She should be
around sixty, but the emotions in her eyes made her look
older. Much older.
“Come inside and get ready for dinner. I made you
your favorite.”
They went inside and her mother went directly into
the kitchen. His father went to the backyard immediately.
He went upstairs and opened a door, which he thought was
the door what led to his room. The room stayed the same
as he had remembered. Cancer dropped his stuff onto the
carpet, and reached for the tiny box in his pocket. After a
click the box opened. He picked out the letter and unfolded
it. It was clearly a girl’s writing, and the letter was to him.
Dear Cancer,
Sorry to interrupt this late and I hope you have very
happy life. I am thankful that you had done what I had
asked for. I really appreciate that.
