were observed in March and May while 11 individuals
occurred in April. The trend recorded in abundance of
M. cumana
,
P. aurita
, and
T. fuscatus
was also
demonstrated for
Tellina nymphalis
(Figures 6
-
10).
Number of individuals of the species was higher in
cages 1(10) and 5 (8). Seven individuals were
observed in cage 4, six in cage 2 and a single
individual in cage 3. The organism occurred
throughout the study months with highest number (9)
of individuals occurring in July. Seven individuals
were recorded in February, six in March and April,
and four individuals in May.
Clibanarius africanus
was recorded in all the study months and experimental
cages. Highest number of individuals representation
occurred in May (10) and cage 5 (8).
Peaneus notialis
occurred in all the study months with relatively higher
(6) individual representation in April, May and July.
The species was not among the colonizing species in
cage 5, but was however collected in all the other cages.
