environmental closeness of different zooplankton across the sampling stations. It is concluded, that the Gulf of
Mannar region is considered as a rich bio-diversity hot spot for marine zooplankton. The present basic information
of the zooplankton distribution and abundance would form a useful tool for further ecological assessment and
monitoring of these coastal ecosystems.
