Figure 5; Table 9). Of the 152 genotypes of
C.
capsularis
, 134 genotypes were placed in one of the
two sub-populations (CI and CII), while 18 genotypes
were categorized as admixed forms (the criteria
followed here was discussed in Material and methods).
Sub-population 1 (CI) of
C. capsularis
consisted of 49
genotypes among which maximum number of 17
genotypes were from Thailand. In sub-population 2
(CII), all the 85 genotypes except four were indigenous.
The majority (14; 77.78%) of the admixed genotypes
were also indigenous.
In
C. olitorius
, 116 genotypes out of 140 were
grouped into two sub-populations namely OI and OII
containing 70 and 46 genotypes, respectively. The
remaining 24 genotypes were classified as admixed
genotypes. The majority of genotypes (44 out of 70) in
OI sub-population and all the 46 genotypes in OII
sub-population were of Indian origin; the remaining
26 genotypes in sub-population OI belonged to six
other countries (Table 9). The pair wise Nei’s unbiased
genetic distance (GD) and population differentiation
(
Fst
) values between the two sub-population (CI and
CII) of
C. capsularis
were 0.086 and 0.070, respectively
