Nursing measures include role-readjustment activities, communication skills training and career guidance to help patients cope with difficulties encountered when returning to work or taking on family responsibilities (Zhou et al., 2020; Setiawan, 2022; Wang et al., 2023). These measures are usually formulated based on the individual circumstances of the patients and sometimes need to be accomplished in collaboration with social workers or career advisors (Zhao et al., 2020; Ye and Wu, 2021). Resource connection is also an important step. It can help patients establish connections with community support, peer groups and medical resources, ensuring that they can still receive continuous assistance after discharge. Digital health platforms and nurny-led follow-ups can continue to provide information, peer communication and professional guidance, thereby enhancing social adaptability and long-term quality of life (Wu et al., 2020; Aydinn and Grsoy, 2024). 6 Evaluation of Social Function Restoration 6.1 Physical function, mental health, and social adaptability The recovery of social function in young breast cancer patients after surgery is mainly evaluated from three aspects: physical function, mental health and social adaptability. Physical functions are measured by indicators such as pain, fatigue, sleep conditions, limb movement and self-care ability, which are very important for daily life and social reintegration roles. Mental health was evaluated through anxiety, depression, worry about recurrence, body image and hope level, reflecting the emotional adjustment and psychological resilience of patients (Table 1) (Wang et al., 2021; Xu et al., 2022; Huang et al., 2024). Social adaptability includes social/family well-being, functional well-being, the ability to return to work, and interpersonal relationship status, which is used to reflect the degree to which patients re-engage in society (Aydinn and Grsoy, 2024a). Table 1 The scores for the degree of severity of symptom clusters in patients with breast cancer (Adopted from Xu et al., 2022) Serial number Symptom clusters Average scores 1 Self-image damaged symptom clusters 2.60±0.81 2 Perimenopausal symptom clusters 1.94±0.75 3 Gastrointestinal symptom clusters 1.72±0.82 4 Pain related symptom clusters 1.66±0.71 5 Mental symptom clusters 1.45±0.62 6 Nervous system related symptom clusters 1.39±0.57 These multi-faceted measurement criteria can fully reflect the rehabilitation situation and help evaluate the effects of nursing measures on physical recovery, psychological adjustment and social integration (Wang et al., 2023; Xu et al., 2022). 6.2 Questionnaire scales, interviews, and follow-ups Standardized questionnaires are commonly used quantitative tools for evaluating rehabilitation conditions. Functional Assessment of Breast Cancer Treatment (FACT-B) is a core tool that can measure physical, emotional, social/family and functional health status (Zhou et al., 2020). Other tools include the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), and the Relapse Anxiety Scale (CARS-J) for psychological assessment (Aljabri, 2024; Xie et al., 2024). Qualitative methods such as semi-structured interviews and regular follow-ups (face-to-face or through digital platforms) can provide a deeper understanding of the actual experiences, difficulties and adaptation processes of patients (Wang et al., 2023; Aydinn and Grsoy, 2024). These methods can continuously track the patient's condition and adjust the nursing measures in a timely manner to ensure that the intervention can meet the changing needs (Wu et al., 2020; Zhou et al., 2020). 6.3 Differences before and after intervention and analysis between groups When analyzing data, it is generally evaluated whether the nursing measures are effective by comparing the patients' scores before and after the intervention, as well as the differences between different groups.
