Psychological support is central to the intervention, providing regular emotional communication and counseling to help elderly individuals alleviate loneliness and depression. Caregivers also offer guidance on health management, such as medication management, chronic disease care, and health education, helping elderly individuals maintain physical health. Furthermore, social activity arrangements are important interventions, such as organizing elderly individuals to participate in community fitness, interest classes, or regular social gatherings, enhancing social connections and reducing loneliness (Wong and Wong, 2020). Research indicates that diverse interventions effectively meet the personalized needs of elderly individuals and improve care outcomes. Personalized psychological support and social activity arrangements are particularly beneficial for elderly individuals living alone. For example, Jinjiao Wang et al. (2016) found significant improvements in mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, with in-home care, especially when caregivers established long-term relationships through targeted emotional support, increasing elderly individuals' sense of fulfillment and security. 6.3 Observed mental health outcomes After six months of care intervention, significant improvements in mental health were observed among elderly individuals living alone. Compared to baseline data, elderly individuals receiving home care services showed marked improvements in loneliness, depressive symptoms, and life satisfaction. Specifically, care interventions significantly reduced depressive symptoms and fostered a more positive outlook on life. For instance, regular psychological support and social activities helped elderly individuals build stronger social connections, reducing loneliness (Taube et al., 2018). These positive mental health outcomes not only improved quality of life but also slowed physical decline. Additionally, the improvement in mental health was accompanied by an increase in life satisfaction. Research shows that personalized emotional support and social activity arrangements effectively enhance the quality of life of elderly individuals living alone and, to some extent, increase their confidence in independent living. Overall, this study demonstrates the positive impact of community-based home care on the mental health of elderly individuals living alone, underscoring the value of this care model in helping elderly individuals maintain mental balance and improve quality of life. 7 Concluding Remarks Through systematic observation and data analysis, this study confirms the positive impact of community-based home care on the mental health of elderly individuals living alone. The study finds that community-based home care not only plays an essential role in reducing depression and loneliness but also significantly enhances life satisfaction and overall quality of life. The findings indicate that home care can effectively reduce the risk of depression and improve overall mental health. Additionally, the frequency of care interventions and the professional training of caregivers were found to be crucial factors influencing care outcomes; frequent care and skilled care significantly improve the living conditions of elderly individuals. This study demonstrates that home care is a vital approach for improving the mental health of elderly individuals living alone, effectively alleviating loneliness, and enhancing mental resilience and life satisfaction (Taube et al., 2018). Based on the study results, community-based home care should receive greater attention in elderly care practices. First, care service design should address the mental health needs of elderly individuals, especially in reducing loneliness and depressive symptoms. Psychological support and regular emotional communication should be core components of care services to help elderly individuals maintain a positive mental state. The study shows that caregivers can significantly reduce mental health issues among elderly individuals through emotional support and social activities, providing specific guidance for care practices (Lee and Lee, 2020). Additionally, caregiver professional training should be strengthened to ensure effective care quality and emotional support. Caregivers with professional skills are better equipped to identify and address mental health issues in elderly individuals, thereby enhancing care outcomes.
