trap energy generated from food consumed and transfer it to activities that demand it for growth, locomotion and
reproduction. Without the phosphorus to build these energy compounds, cell life cannot exist (Nduka
et al.,
2008).
Phosphates level in our samples were ranged between 0.025 and 0.461 mg.l
-1
. All the studied water samples have
PO

levels falling within the WHO and Iraqi standard limits (5 mg.l
-1
, Table1~13).
