4 Conclusion
In the present study, the mean heavy metal pollution index (HPI) of Shatt Al-Arab River were found above the
critical index value 100, according to impermissible values of dissolved Pb, Fe and Cd. which indicates that are
represented as surface water pollution with respect to heavy metals.
