Identification of plants
Many of the traditional healers/herbalists provided the
local names of the plants being used. Scientific names
were validated on our return to the laboratory. Plant
specimen were collected, dried and preserved properly.
They were identified through available literature
(Nasir and Ali, 1971-1995; Ali and Qaisar, 1995-2006).
Literature survey and general observations adds some
more information. The voucher specimens were
submitted to Herbarium, Department of Botany,
Federal Government College Mardan, Pakistan.
